AI Lobster Now In WeChat
ClawBot: Tencent's OpenClaw Agent Is Coming to WeChat
WeChat users can now connect to the OpenClaw AI agent and send commands, get responses, all inside the chat app.
Tencent just added an AI agent called ClawBot directly into WeChat. It's a plugin that connects to OpenClaw, the open-source AI tool that's been blowing up lately. If you have WeChat (about 1.3 billion people do), you can now chat with your own *lobster* like it's a contact.
OpenClaw runs on your computer (or uses cloud models via API) and can handle files, emails, and other tasks. The new plugin means you can send it commands through WeChat messages, photos, voice, and files, and it responds back in the chat. Think of it like texting a friend who happens to be an AI that can do things on your device.
Why It Matters
WeChat is China's everything app. Adding an AI agent directly into its messaging interface means over a billion people can now interact with OpenClaw without leaving the app. AI agents are now moving from developer hobby projects into mainstream consumer apps.
