React Dethroned on GitHub
OpenClaw Tops GitHub Star Rankings, Surpasses React
So React has been dethroned. OpenClaw is now the most starred repository on GitHub.
React has been dethroned. OpenClaw, the AI agent project, just passed it on GitHub stars. Devs are checking it out, experimenting with agents that can run tasks for them automatically.
React is still everywhere in production. This isn’t about that. Stars are more like bookmarks. They show where people’s curiosity is right now.
OpenClaw lets users set up autonomous agents with minimal fuss, and people are trying it for small scripts, automation, and workflows they couldn’t easily do before.
Being top starred doesn’t mean it’s better or more used than React. It just means developers are clicking star buttons and exploring new ideas.
For now, React still powers most of the web. OpenClaw being number one in stars is just a snapshot of what’s catching attention now.
