Gemini for Mac
Your Mac Is Getting a Native Gemini App
It's in early beta, and hints at some interesting features, but no release date yet.
Google is testing a native Gemini app for Mac. It's in early development, so don't expect everything yet.
What's there so far? Core features are expected to include chat, web search, document analysis, and access to Gemini’s generative tools. The interface looks like the existing Gemini apps on iPhone and iPad, so it should feel familiar if you've used those.
Desktop Intelligence
The interesting part is where this could go. Gemini will eventually be able to integrate with other Mac apps like Calendar. No guarantee it makes the final cut, but that's the direction.
What Next?
No release date yet. Google's just gathering feedback. But with ChatGPT and Claude already having Mac apps, this was overdue. If Desktop Intelligence ships, it puts Gemini on par with what the others are doing. Maybe even ahead in some ways.
