Chrome Tabs Now Go Vertical
Your Chrome Tabs Can Finally Go Vertical
Right-click any window and select Show Tabs Vertically to move tabs to a sidebar where you can finally read their titles.
Google is finally rolling out vertical tabs in Chrome. It's been a long time coming. Edge has had them since 2021. Firefox and Vivaldi too. Chrome users have been asking for years, and now it's here.
To enable it, right-click any Chrome window and select *Show Tabs Vertically*. Your tabs move from the top to a left sidebar where you can actually read their full titles. Even with double-digit tabs open, you can still tell what's what. Google says it's perfect for multitasking. That's the polite way of saying 'we know you have 47 tabs open and can't find the one you need.'
The update is rolling out gradually, so if you don't see it yet, give it a few days. Works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and ChromeOS. Chrome is also updating its reading mode with a full-page interface that hides distractions. Right-click any page and select *Open in reading mode* to get a clean, text-only view. Go crazy.
